Hugh Jackman may be one of Hollywood’s top s-x symbols, but Jennifer Garner describes filming a s-x scene with the “X-Men” star for the movie “Butter” as “horrifying.”
“Of course, it was like the first day we worked together,” Garner told E! at an AFI Fest premiere of “Butter” in Los Angeles. “It’s always like that. It’s always like, ‘It’s nice to meet you, now let’s moan and groan.’ I’m such a huge fan of [Jackman’s]. It was so horrifying.”
“Butter” travels inside the strange world of an Iowa State Fair butter-carving competition. Garner plays an ambitious wife, Laura Pickler, who picks up a carving knife when her champion butter-carver husband retires from the competition. Jackman plays her ex-boyfriend.
Some have noted the similarities between Garner’s styling in “Butter” and the look of female Republican candidates like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann. But, the film’s director says, Garner’s character is actually based on Hillary Clinton.
“When you start to peel away the layers of the movie, you realize that there’s a lot of political metaphor,” Jim Field Smith told Entertainment Weekly. “Bill Clinton was this much-loved president, who maybe was not so discreet with his s-xual love, and Hillary stood in the shadows very quietly supporting him. After his two terms were up, there was a sense of Hillary saying, ‘My turn now.’”
But Garner said that none of these three women inspired her performance. “I didn’t look at the political figures of today at all,” she said. “As far as the political stuff, that you’ll just have to read into that yourself.”
