Ashton Kutcher revived his "failure" with Demi Moore and revealed his greatest anger with the actress

The actor said that divorcing his colleague made him feel like a failure, and gave details of those years together and his present with Mila Kunis.

He is about to premiere the romantic comedy Your House or Mine with Reese Witherspoon (on Netflix), and his sentimental life has been going smoothly since he and Mila Kunis formed one of the most solid couples in Hollywood. However, in every interview he gives, Ashton Kutcher is forced to retrace some of the most controversial facts from his past, and also from some of the people around him.

This week was no exception. Esquire magazine chose the actor as the central figure on its cover, and there the actor recalls the years he shared with Demi Moore and what it was like to live with the three daughters of the protagonist of Ghost, the shadow of love.

“I was 26 years old and I took on the responsibility of raising an eight-year-old girl, a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl. This is how some teen parents must experience their 20s. It was too much, ”he acknowledged.

"The moment our relationship became known, my life changed," sums up Kutcher. It's just that, in addition to the age difference, at that time she was quite the mother of the family and he was seen as a heartthrob party-goer. The then brand new medium TMZ religiously followed them around the city and digital cameras became the main enemies of the couple.

Also in reference to his marriage to Moore, which he celebrated in 2006, he assures that it was an "important period of personal growth" for him. However, it was also a time of overexposure for which he was not prepared: the treatment that certain media gave the couple led him to explode on Twitter. Today he reflects: "It is stupid to complain about the things to which you are contributing."

Although that marriage ended on good terms, in 2019 the peace between Moore and Kutcher seemed to falter. That year, the actress presented her autobiographical book Inside Out in which, among other things, she revealed that at that time she was addicted to alcohol and she exposed the rags to the sun about the actor's infidelity and the problems derived from a spontaneous abortion that she suffered during their relation. She also indicated that her then-husband insisted that they experiment sexually with third parties.

“The truth is that I got very angry. Finally, I had come to a place where the press was not after me and Mila and my children. And suddenly, I had the paparazzi at my children's school, ”she explains, about the repercussions of what Moore recounted in her memoirs. And she focused, too, on how she experienced the actress's pregnancy loss: “Losing a child that you think you're going to have, and being so close to thinking you're going to have a child, it's very, very painful. We all deal with it in different ways. For some reason, I had to have that experience. I love children. I wouldn't have married a woman with children if I didn't love them. And to have had another child would have been amazing. But for some reason, I had to go through that experience."

In any case, the saddest moment of that stage was the breakup. “Nothing makes you feel like a failure like a divorce. It feels like a fucking failure wholesale,” she assures. At that time, moreover, he had to face an irrefutable fact: his public image had been shattered after the media revealed all kinds of details about the encounter he had had with a woman while he was married.

A year after the split, Kutcher began dating his former That '70s Show co-star Mila Kunis. Their first daughter arrived in 2015, and that same year they decided to formalize their union. In 2016, the second of their children arrived. “What made our relationship accelerate was that I always admired Mila. Her talents, her abilities, her gifts. But I knew she didn't need me. And she knew I didn't need her. Besides, we already knew all the dirt on each other, ”he explained. And he added: "My wife is much cooler than me."

Kunis and Kutcher, like nearly all of the That '70s Show leads, returned this year as guest stars on the follow-up to the hit television sitcom, That '90s Show, which tells the story of the descendants of the famous group of friends, 20 years later. The only actor from the original program who does not participate in the series is Danny Masterson, accused of rape by three women who were part of the Church of Scientology, a cult to which the actor belongs.

Kutcher and Masterson also worked together on The Ranch, the Netflix series. For Ashton, his colleague was something of a mentor during the early years of his career, and he says it was he who kept the group of young actors on That '70s Show away from drugs and bad decisions.

In June 2020, Masterson was arrested and accused of having raped three women on three separate occasions, between 2001 and 2003. Beyond the fame of the defendant, the trial gained great relevance in the media because the three victims claimed to have been harassed and violated by members of Scientology so that they would not present their complaints or testify against the actor.

Kutcher, who was raised in a Catholic family but embraced Judaism during his first marriage, said: "I feel very sorry for anyone who feels she was violated in any way." However, he added that he wants Masterson "to be found not guilty of the charges against him."

“Ultimately, I cannot know if he is guilty or not. I am not a judge. I am not part of the jury. I'm not the district attorney. I am not the victim. And I'm not the defendant. So, in that case, I have nothing to comment on. I just don't know,” he added, explaining that it distresses him to think that one day Masterson's son will read everything that has been written on the subject in the media. In November 2022, the jury failed to reach a verdict, and a date was set for a new trial, which starts on March 27 of this year.
