A royal author named Lisa M Davies, who wrote a satirical book about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, has suggested that A-listers now view the couple as "toxic" rather than the once beloved "golden couple." Davies noted that Hollywood bigwigs and US politicians have been distancing themselves from the pair.
Davies went on to explain that not too long ago, Meghan and Harry were seen as the couple with the Midas touch, beloved by LA royalty like Ellen and Oprah as well as the masses who saw them as a symbol of hope for the underprivileged.
However, as Davies continued to write her book, she observed a shift in the public perception of the couple. They went from being adored to ridiculed and shunned, with their situation only getting worse.
Davies believes that Americans now see the couple clearly for who they are, and the movers and shakers they once associated with have dropped them like a bad habit. She thinks they are deemed toxic and are unlikely to recover their previous standing.
The author compared their situation to the story of Icarus, noting that they too, fueled by their own hubris, flew too close to the sun and are now falling to the ground like burnt toast.
