Jessica Simpson's Memoir Pilot Dropped by Amazon Freevee

According to recent reports, Amazon Freevee will not be moving forward with the pilot based on Jessica Simpson's memoir, Open Book. However, Simpson is still involved in the project and is currently searching for another streaming platform to partner with.

The scripted pilot, which was ordered by Amazon Freevee in October, had Tom Kapinos as the writer and executive producer, with Adam Bernstein on board as a director and executive producer. Katelyn Tarver was set to star as Sadie Sparrow, a young singer based on Simpson, and John Stamos was cast as her older songwriter, Butch. The story was set to revolve around their musical journey and their emotional connection.

Although the pilot won't be moving forward with Amazon Freevee, Simpson remains determined to bring her memoir to life on-screen and is actively searching for a new streaming partner. The show is set to be executive produced by Simpson and Patrick Moran for his PKM Productions, with Lauren Auslander and Lacy Lynch also on board as executive producers.
