The monarch has a 'working royals only' policy, but exceptions are being made for certain individuals, such as Princess Anne's husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.
He is not a working member of the royal family, but will be one of only 15 people accompanying the King on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the coronation in May.
It's worth noting that the exception does not extend to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who will not be given a spot on the balcony due to their non-working royal status.
Only senior royals such as Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Edward and his wife Sophie are expected to be present. Prince Andrew, who is also not a working royal after his sex abuse scandal, will also be excluded.
Sir Tim Laurence, who is often referred to as the 'invisible' member of the royal family, has made appearances on the Buckingham Palace balcony before, including during the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.
Alongside his wife Princess Anne, Charles' younger sister, Sir Tim will join the select group of royals for the anticipated balcony appearance. Other members expected to attend include The Duke of Kent and his wife Princess Alexandra, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
