It has been reported that Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, will
not be attending the coronation of King Charles alongside her husband and their
children, Archie and Lilibet.
This news was shared by royal expert and friend of the couple, Omid Scobie, on his official Twitter account.
While the exact reason for Meghan's absence is not known, Scobie suggested that Archie's fourth birthday, which falls on the same day as the coronation, may have played a role in the decision.
However, according to another royal expert, Tom Bower, it was Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, who may have influenced Meghan's decision not to attend.
Bower claimed that Kate had warned Meghan that she would have to sit at the back if she did come to the event. The exact veracity of this claim is unknown.
