It seems that Prince Harry's recent comments have not gone over well with Americans, as he appears to have unintentionally hurt their feelings with his "misguided" remarks.
The Duke of Sussex has found himself in hot water after making comments about drug use in his memoir, "Spare," which has prompted reactions from both US citizens and legal experts.
Many Americans are now calling on Prince Harry to explain how he was able to obtain a visa to enter the United States, despite admitting to using various Class A drugs like cocaine, magic mushrooms, and cannabis in his book and in promotional interviews.
People who apply for visas to live and work in America are required to answer "yes" or "no" to the question, "Are you or have you ever been a drug abuser or addict?"
It is unclear how Prince Harry answered this question on his visa application, and US immigration authorities have reportedly not responded to a Freedom of Information (FoI) request filed by leading American think-tank The Heritage Foundation to shed light on the matter.
As a result, the Duke of Sussex has been advised to be "totally transparent" about his visa application and how he answered the drug question, or else risk becoming a "political pawn."
Senior lawyer Samuel Dewey has stated that if Prince Harry was honest and upfront about his drug use, then he would have needed a waiver to be granted a visa to be admitted into the States.
This would have required him to be interviewed in person and for someone to grant him a waiver. Thus, many are asking who exactly granted that waiver, and why.
