The Princess Royal played a prominent role in King Charles and Queen Camilla's coronation as a senior working member of the royal family and as the 'Gold-Stick-In-Waiting.'
Not only did she lead the military procession, but she also appeared alongside the royal couple on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
It was noted that Princess Anne's position in the coronation portrait highlighted King Charles' respect for her.
During the ceremony, eagle-eyed fans may have noticed an exchange between Princess Anne and Prince Harry, which reportedly surprised their fellow royals.
Jennie Bond, the former royal correspondent for the BBC, has claimed that Princess Anne might have chosen to talk to her nephew to avoid a "public scene." However, according to Jennie, Princess Anne is "absolutely furious" with Prince Harry.
Speaking candidly with OK! magazine, Jennie expressed her belief that Princess Anne chose to "compartmentalize" during the coronation. While she has had a good relationship with her nephew, the allegations made by Prince Harry have reportedly affected her.
"Princess Anne is a very straightforward and direct person," explained Jennie. "She speaks her mind and doesn't pretend anything. She is probably similar to her late mother, Queen Elizabeth, who was able to compartmentalize everything she was told. So when the family was going through difficulties, but she had a job to do, she could set that aside and focus on her responsibilities. I think Anne is probably a bit like that too."
Jennie further reflected on how this approach may have influenced Princess Anne's conversation with Prince Harry, saying, "It was completely natural for her to stop and chat with her nephew, with whom I believe she has had a good relationship over the years, rather than causing a public scene."
The royal expert then suggested that while Princess Anne may have thought it was better to be amiable, she is "quite sure that deep down, Anne has been absolutely furious with Harry" for allegedly upsetting Queen Elizabeth "so much in her final years."
Queen Elizabeth passed away at Balmoral in September 2022, months before the release of Prince Harry's memoir, "Spare." However, the Sussexes' revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry's appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, and the news of the book's publication all occurred during her remarkable reign.
Jennie speculated that Princess Anne could be "very unhappy" with Prince Harry's allegations. However, she acknowledged that the coronation was neither the time nor the place to discuss such matters. Jennie affirmed that the Princess Royal and her nephew appeared "very relaxed together."
"She would have set aside her feelings to some extent, but I'm sure she is angry at the damage he has done to the royal reputation because she works so hard," declared the expert.
Prince Harry's attendance at the coronation marked the first public reunion with the Royal Family, including Princess Anne, since the publication of "Spare." It is unknown when he will next come face-to-face with his aunt, who has continued to demonstrate her hardworking nature with an incredibly busy schedule of engagements following the coronation.
