William Didn't Want Meghan at Coronation to Avoid Upsetting Kate Again

According to an insider, Prince William was initially hesitant about inviting Meghan Markle to King Charles' coronation, as he did not want to risk upsetting his wife, Kate Middleton.

However, it was reported that Prince Charles insisted on inviting both of his sons and their spouses to the ceremony, and a compromise was reached.

Despite this, William made it clear to his courtiers that he did not want Meghan anywhere near Kate during the coronation. The insider claimed that William did not trust Meghan and did not want to risk another conflict between her and Kate.

Although Harry and Meghan were originally invited to the event, it was said that William "put a cold spin on the invite." The insider also suggested that William might have considered disinviting Meghan altogether, but ultimately made a compromise with his father.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September, William and Kate reportedly agreed to greet well-wishers alongside Harry and Meghan. However, the insider claimed that this time around, William is taking a harder stance and is not willing to risk upsetting Kate again.
