The spokesperson confirmed the news, stating, "Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways, and we are proud of the series we created together." It signifies the end of their partnership with Spotify, as well as their podcast series.
Omid Scobie, a close friend of the couple and a royal expert, shared the spokesperson's statement regarding the Spotify deal on Twitter. This came in response to a tweet from the Wall Street Journal, which mentioned that Meghan Markle's "Archetypes" podcast on Spotify would not be renewed for a second season due to the company's podcasting strategy overhaul.
In his tweet, Scobie wrote, "A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now confirms: 'Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.'"
Furthermore, the New York Post previously reported that Archewell, the media company launched by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, did not produce enough content to fulfill the requirements for the full payout of their approximately $20 million deal signed in 2020.
This latest development highlights the shifting dynamics in Meghan and Harry's business ventures, as they continue to navigate their post-royal lives and make strategic decisions regarding their media endeavors.
