Oprah and Spotify Join Forces to Uncover Harry's Skeleton After $20M Deal Fallout

Prince Harry's remarks during his infamous Oprah interview. We'll delve into the controversy surrounding Spotify executives and their alleged horror at Harry's comments, shedding light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics of their multi-million dollar deal.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed their lucrative agreement with Spotify worth a staggering $20 million, the audio giant surely anticipated a fruitful partnership. However, just months later, Harry's offhand remarks about the deal during the Oprah interview raised eyebrows and sent shockwaves through the industry.

In the interview, Harry nonchalantly downplayed the significance of the Spotify and Netflix deals, claiming they were never part of the plan and implying that he was forced into signing them due to financial constraints.

These comments suggested a lack of commitment and enthusiasm towards the partnership, leaving Spotify executives far from impressed. Richard Eden, the diary editor at the Daily Mail, asserted that producing a podcast requires meticulous planning and hard work, dismissing the notion that it can be approached casually.

Eden's remark suggests that Spotify executives would have expected a higher level of dedication and professionalism from Harry and Meghan, leading them to feel horrified by the prince's dismissive attitude.

Rebecca English, the Royal editor at the Daily Mail, echoed Eden's sentiments, emphasizing that while the couple may have intended to create meaningful content centered around the causes they care about, the public's fascination lies predominantly in their royal connections. English bluntly stated that what truly sells is the insight into their lives as royals, casting doubts on the marketability of their chosen content.

The sudden and dramatic end of the Spotify partnership, with only one lackluster podcast series released titled "Archetypes," further added fuel to the fire. Harry and Meghan's joint statement expressing mutual agreement to part ways undoubtedly attempted to maintain a brave face. However, English suggests that it was undoubtedly an uphill battle for the couple.

Reports emerged claiming that the Archewell Media company founded by Harry and Meghan failed to produce enough content to fulfill the terms of the $20 million deal. This revelation supports the notion that the partnership did not meet Spotify's expectations, ultimately leading to its premature demise.

To make matters worse, sports writer and podcaster Bill Simmons openly criticized the couple, referring to them as "effing grifters" in the aftermath of the shattered deal. Simmons' scathing comments highlight the negative sentiment that surrounded the couple's reputation within the industry.

Additionally, a recent report alleged that some interviews for Megan's "Archetypes" podcasts were conducted by members of her staff, with their voices later added in post-production. This revelation raises questions about the authenticity and integrity of the content, further eroding the credibility of the partnership.
