The reason behind his absence relates to his ongoing legal battle with Mirror Group Newspapers, as he claims they disseminated unlawful information about him and his family.
Prince Harry's legal team has confirmed that he is expected to attend the court session on Tuesday.
According to Mirror.co.uk, the 38-year-old royal is suing Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) for damages, alleging that journalists associated with their publications, including the Sunday Mirror and Sunday People, were involved in practices such as phone hacking and obtaining information through deception, known as "blagging."
Representing the Duke in court is David Sherborne. During his opening statement today, Sherborne asserted that MGN believed "the ends justified the means" in relation to their actions.
He emphasized that stories about Prince Harry's private life were undeniably instrumental in boosting sales for MGN.
Sherborne pointed out, "After all, the articles were the ends," further stating, "These are the ends that justify the means for the defendant." He made it clear that the essence of this claim revolves around the unlawful means employed by the defendant in their pursuit of such stories.
