Prince Harry's Battle with Press: A Double-Edged Sword

Prince Harry's Battle with Press: A Double-Edged Sword

Prince Harry finds himself at a disadvantage in his ongoing battle against the British media, who have been intimately acquainted with him since his birth.

Royal experts have recently criticized Prince Harry, asserting that his hopes of triumphing over the media are futile.

These assertions come from Camilla Tominey, a royal commentator and expert who serves as the associate editor for The Telegraph.

Tominey began the conversation by cautioning Prince Harry against prematurely planning a celebration of victory, as she believes he has no chance of succeeding.

In fact, Tominey goes so far as to label the Duke an "avenger," suggesting that he is driven by a personal mission to reform the press, which he considers his life's purpose.

She deems this approach regressive, claiming that Prince Harry is seeking retribution against those whom he believes were responsible for his mother's untimely demise.

"During the course of his legal actions, he has been compelled to divulge a significant amount of personal information. In one of his witness statements, he discussed feeling excluded from conversations about phone hacking within the Palace due to the perception that he was prone to impulsiveness, particularly by William and others," Tominey reveals.

"This situation arises from his belief that he is fighting for a greater cause, one that justifies the repeated exposure of intimate details about his closest family members," she explains.

However, Tominey concludes that it is highly unlikely that Prince Harry's closest relatives would support his approach. Instead, they adhere to the late Queen's mantra of "never complain, never explain."
