Meghan Markle Mocked by Angela Levin for Bribe Attempt to Become Emmy Judge After Sussexes' Documentary Fails: Disqualified

Meghan Markle faced an embarrassing moment when Angela Levin mocked her failed attempt to become an Emmy judge. In 2018, the same year she married Prince Harry, Meghan politely declined to be considered for an Emmy nomination, signaling her desire to distance herself from her acting career and focus on her new life as a royal.

Meghan, known for her role in the American drama series "Suits," where she played Rachel Zane from 2011 to 2018, had been nominated for an Emmy but turned down the opportunity, presumably as a preparation for her upcoming marriage to Prince Harry.

It was rumored that she was also invited to attend the event to present an award, and the invitation was extended to Prince Harry as well. Declining the invitation was seen as Meghan's way of drawing a clear line between her acting career and her married life. She had already announced her retirement from acting and her engagement to Harry eight months prior.

Sources revealed that the organizers had hoped Meghan would attend as a way to bid farewell to her former co-stars and fans. NBC executives had even offered Harry and Meghan the chance to mingle with A-list celebrities and present an award at the event. However, Megan's name was not among the final nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Her last episode in "Suits," which aired in March 2018, showed her character attempting to marry her on-screen love interest, played by Patrick J Adams. This episode aired four months after Meghan had permanently relocated to London and married Prince Harry. The snub at the Emmys was not the first for Meghan and Harry, as their documentary series was also excluded from the list of outstanding programs nominated for an Emmy Award that year.

The series, which followed their story and relationship, made serious accusations against the royal family, including Prince William and King George III. Despite garnering impressive viewership numbers, surpassing popular shows like "Stranger Things" and "The Crown," the Netflix documentary failed to secure any Emmy nominations.

This oversight was particularly glaring considering the show's high viewership on Netflix. As a consolation, the series received a nomination at the Hollywood Critics Association Awards for Best Streaming Non-Fiction Series. Megan also voiced her dissatisfaction with the British press, accusing them of planting unflattering stories about her.

The series, part of a reported $100 million Netflix production deal, faced criticism for allegedly misleading footage and misrepresenting the couple's residence. While it received some positive feedback, the Hollywood Critics Association nomination triggered criticism on social media, with some commenters dubbing the series as more fiction than non-fiction and criticizing Harry and Megan as complainers.
