Meghan Markle, along with Prince Harry, is working hard to salvage their lucrative £80 million Netflix deal. Reports from Australia suggest that she could secure a significant role in the sequel to the iconic 1992 film, The Bodyguard.

The idea for a sequel was reportedly brought up by Kevin Costner, who starred alongside Whitney Houston in the original film.
An insider shared with New Idea that "the only thing Kevin loves more than an underdog is Meghan's box office success." Back in 2012, Costner expressed that the studio was enthusiastic about creating a sequel to The Bodyguard, with Diana as the new love interest.
He even had a phone conversation with Diana, recalling how sweet she was and mentioning her question about a potential kissing scene.
Costner affirmed that there would indeed be a romantic element, but emphasized making it memorable. Diana eventually decided that her life had enough drama and encouraged Costner to proceed with the script, assuring him that she would be in a good place when it was ready.
Furthermore, there are indications that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may reshape their image as Hollywood's power couple. Paul Burrell, a close associate of Princess Diana, claimed that the American public is growing weary of the couple's constant presence in the media. Harry's memoir and their explosive documentary series on Netflix have kept them in the spotlight for months.
However, Mr. Burrell cautioned that public interest in the couple might be dwindling across the Atlantic and suggested that they explore new directions. He even proposed that Meghan make a bold move in American politics, envisioning her as a potential governor of California while Harry establishes himself in Hollywood.
Burrell pointed out that this trajectory is not far-fetched, as California has seen actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Reagan hold the governorship in the past.
