Previously, there were reports that Harry and Meghan were interested in a role that was part-in, part-out with the Royal Family, but this idea was vetoed by the late Queen. According to Royal author Tom Quinn, the new monarch, King Charles, and the heir to the throne, Prince William, are also not inclined to entertain the idea of a part-time role for the Sussexes.
Mr. Quinn explained to The Express, "The primary focus for King Charles and Prince William is to honor the late Queen's unwavering belief that you cannot be a part-time Royal. You can't spend six months hobnobbing with celebrities in America and then return here to selectively participate in Royal events. I don't believe Charles and William will endorse that approach simply because it goes against the principles that Queen Elizabeth held dear."
This situation arises as Prince Harry's relationship with both Charles and William remains strained, and any hopes of reconciliation appear distant. In a few weeks, Harry will be back in the UK to attend a charity award ceremony, coinciding with the presence of his estranged father and brother. However, insiders have confirmed that neither the King nor William have plans to meet with Harry, and he has no intention of visiting them during his brief stay.
This visit occurs on the eve of the first anniversary of the late Queen's passing, which some might have considered an opportunity for the Royal Family to mend relations. However, insiders have dismissed any such hopes. They mentioned that while it might seem fitting for the family to reconcile, possibly in the late Queen's memory, the reality is that they are still far from that point.
The last time Harry was seen with Charles and William was at the King's coronation on May 6. They were also together with their wives, Kate and Meghan, as they paid respects at Windsor Castle before the Queen's funeral. As of now, there are no plans for a public event or gathering to commemorate the Queen's passing.
While members of the Royal Family are set to spend their summer holidays at Balmoral, the King and his wife, Camilla, are expected to privately commemorate the Queen's death there, as it was where she passed away. Meanwhile, William and Kate will be in Wales for public events. Harry, who has been a patron of WellChild for 15 years and regularly attends its annual awards ceremony, is not expected to be joined by the Duchess of Sussex, who has attended previous events.
