"Heart of Invictus," which was released today and features Prince Harry as its executive producer, focuses on the inspiring stories of resilient veterans as they prepare for the Invictus Games in The Hague in 2022. Founded by Prince Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games aim to aid the rehabilitation and recovery of injured veterans.

While this new series avoids the sensationalism of previous projects, Prince Harry did manage to slip in a couple of subtle criticisms aimed at the British press and the Royal Family. He mentioned feeling unsupported by the institution upon his return from Afghanistan and revealed that he considered therapy for the first time while in a vulnerable state.

Prince Harry also expressed his frustration at being pulled out of Afghanistan in 2008 when his presence on the front line was leaked to the media. He noted that the British press agreed to keep this information secret in exchange for access.

In "Heart of Invictus," Prince Harry effectively shifts the focus away from his royal status and towards the incredible journey of these wounded soldiers. He strategically avoids mentioning royalty throughout the series, perhaps as a way to regain control of the narrative and spotlight the veterans' rehabilitation.

When asked about his daily life, Prince Harry emphasized his role as a father, husband, and the founding Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation. This documentary serves as a platform for highlighting charity and humanitarian causes, similar to how his parents, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, have maintained strong popularity by using their influence for good.

In contrast to their recent controversies and allegations against the Royal Family, "Heart of Invictus" presents an opportunity for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to improve their public image. While Meghan has a limited role in the series, maintaining a supportive and unscripted presence, the focus remains on the veterans' stories.

Netflix invested heavily in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and the success of their previous series demonstrated their market appeal. However, with "Heart of Invictus" downplaying their royal ties, it remains to be seen whether this documentary will generate the same level of interest and viewership.

The transition from "brand-Sussex Royal" to simply "brand-Sussex" represents a shift in their public image, and only time will tell if it proves to be a profitable investment for Netflix.
