King's Rejection: Prince Harry Asked to Rent Motel as Olive Branch Burns, Denied Stay in Windsor for WellChild Event

In a rather symbolic display, the King's request for Prince Harry to secure a motel room during his plea to stay in Windsor for the WellChild event seems to represent a new low in the already strained relationship between the Royal Family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Observers recently noted a figurative "bonfire of the olive branches," signifying the deterioration of relations that were once warm within the family.

The once-extended hand of reconciliation has now been withdrawn, and the atmosphere resembles a deep freeze. It's clear that the peace pipe has been replaced by a metaphorical deluge of tears from the Duchess herself.

The situation is so dire that Prince Harry, who plans to visit the UK in September to attend an awards ceremony for the WellChild charity, has no intentions of meeting with his father or brother. He's not even slated to attend a private family dinner at Windsor in remembrance of the Queen.

Following the WellChild event, Prince Harry is set to travel to Germany for the Invictus Games, where Meghan will later join him. This development underscores Meghan's resolute stance: she has no desire to return to the UK if she can avoid it at all costs.

It appears that Prince Harry may have implored King Charles for permission to stay at Windsor to maintain his royal image in the eyes of the media and the public. However, King Charles reportedly flatly declined this request, suggesting that Harry find temporary lodging at an inn.

When Prince Harry returns to the UK next month, he will need to seek permission if he wishes to stay on a Royal Estate, given that he and Meghan were evicted from Frogmore Cottage earlier this summer by the King himself. His options include requesting an apartment on one of the Royal Estates or staying with friends at a hotel.

The WellChild awards ceremony is scheduled for September 8th, just a day before the first anniversary of the Queen's passing. Nevertheless, Prince Harry is not expected to engage with his family during this brief visit. Insiders suggest that while the anniversary could have been an opportunity to mend fences and commemorate their late family member, relations between the Duke and his brother and father remain exceedingly strained.

In contrast to the widespread public grief and state events observed last year, there are no plans for either public or private family gatherings to mark the anniversary of the Queen's passing. Instead, the King and Queen are anticipated to spend the day privately reflecting on her legacy. Prince Charles typically resides at Burke Hall, his private residence on the estate, and Prince Andrew is expected to join him in Scotland with his daughters.

The participation of other Royals in these private commemorations remains uncertain. Following this period, Prince Harry will depart for the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, which commence on September 9th, thereby sidestepping any family encounters during his stay in the UK.
