The much-anticipated first trailer for Prince Harry's upcoming Netflix docu-series, 'Heart of Invictus,' has been officially released.
Produced under the banner of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's production company, Archewell Productions, the five-episode series spotlights the Invictus Games—an international sporting event created by Prince Harry himself, catering to wounded, injured, and sick veterans and members of the armed services.
'Heart of Invictus' aims to shed light on the remarkable backstories of various athletes and chronicle their incredible journeys to the Games. Additionally, the series offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the intricate process of orchestrating the tournament.
In a preview of the series, Prince Harry's voice resonates as he addresses the participants, conveying the message, "Here, at the Invictus Games, you release: Whatever you carry, it is the springboard to the next level."
Beyond his on-screen appearances, Prince Harry serves as an executive producer for the project. The much-anticipated series is scheduled for release on Netflix on August 30.
In a statement, Prince Harry emphasizes the significance of the Invictus Games community, stating, "Our Invictus Games community represents some of the bravest and most dedicated individuals from 23 nations across the globe. 'Heart of Invictus' is the incredible story of competitors brought together through service, who are now united through sport."
He further notes, "While in various stages of recovery from both visible and invisible injuries, these competitors and their loved ones give a compelling look at their journey to the Invictus Games, in a way that commands admiration and respect."
The direction of 'Heart of Invictus' was skillfully helmed by Orlando von Einsiedel, the esteemed director who earned an Oscar for Best Documentary Short in 2017 for his work on 'The White Helmets.'
As the release date approaches, Prince Harry and Meghan are set to attend the upcoming Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, from September 9 to the 16.
In parallel news, following the termination of their Spotify partnership, Prince Harry and Meghan are venturing into Hollywood with their first major deal—a film adaptation of a best-selling book. Netflix has taken the project under its wing, entrusting the couple's production company with the task.
This upcoming endeavor marks a notable departure from their previous personal documentaries, such as 'Harry & Meghan, Live to Lead,' and 'Heart of Invictus.'
