Prince William and Kate Middleton Face Criticism Over Alleged Excuses: Do They Hold Up

Prince William and Kate Middleton have recently found themselves in the spotlight over what some critics are calling a litany of excuses that simply don't hold water.

Royal commentator Daniela Elser, in her article for News.com.au, dissected the allegations against the couple, particularly focusing on their reluctance to engage in Commonwealth travel.

Elser questioned, "What's the rationale behind their apparent aversion to Commonwealth visits, especially when their justifications seem flimsy at best?"

One of the primary criticisms centers around the couple's lack of travel within the Commonwealth. Elser noted that explanations citing carbon emissions, protocol, and cost don't seem to add up, given that the duo has been frequently jet-setting to other destinations.

She also raised a pertinent question: "Why have Prince Charles, Camilla, William, and Kate been noticeably absent from Commonwealth events while those further down the royal hierarchy have been actively engaging with these nations?"

Furthermore, Elser drew a stark comparison between the senior royals and Princess Anne, who managed to undertake multiple day trips to countries like Uganda, the US, Cyprus, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia.

Even Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, have embarked on visits to Canada, the Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas.

In light of these facts, Elser provocatively inquired, "If Anne, Edward, and Sophie can make multiple trips to various countries, including those within the Commonwealth, to support the monarchy and promote British interests, what's preventing William and Kate from doing the same?"
