Altuzarra Denies Deal with Meghan Markle After NYC Appearance: Allegations of Original Design Destruction

Megan Markle appears to have stirred up controversy with yet another fashion choice. She arrived at a mental health summit in New York City wearing a $987 white off-the-shoulder blazer by Alazur, paired with matching white pants and heels. However, critics were quick to denounce her outfit as inappropriate for the occasion, questioning her choice in the context of discussing mental health.

One critic remarked, "Why is she dressed like that for a panel on kids being bullied into suicide on social media?" They added that the outfit seemed all wrong, both for the setting and the early hour of the event. From a styling perspective, they mentioned that the color was off, the tailoring wasn't proper, the shoes were the wrong shade, and her hair appeared messy. It was suggested that Joseph Alazur, the designer, probably wouldn't want his name associated with this look.

Critics pointed out that Megan seemed to have altered the original ensemble, making significant changes to the blazer, which ended up affecting the overall look. They suggested that she should have sized up on top, adjusted the sleeves, and taken in the bust. This would have allowed the blazer to flow seamlessly into the pants rather than gaping open and creating an unflattering horizontal line at the widest point of her hips. Additionally, they recommended sizing down on the bottom, taking in the pants through the thighs while letting them flare naturally.

The negative response to Megan's outfit highlighted the impact of public appearances on consumer behavior. Despite Alazur's decision not to use Megan's image for marketing, media coverage and public scrutiny significantly affected the brand's sales. This incident raises questions about Megan's standing within the fashion industry and her influence on fashion trends.

On the other hand, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has consistently incorporated thoughtful details into her outfits over the years. During World Mental Health Day, she made a meaningful appearance in Birmingham, England, alongside Prince William. She wore a symbolic yellow blazer from LK Bennett, paired with black trousers.

This outfit was part of the "Hello Yellow" moment, encouraging people to wear the bright color in support of young people's mental health. The black and yellow colors in her look also represented the logos of Beyond and Young Minds UK, charities attending the Youth Mental Health Forum that the royal couple hosted. Additionally, she wore earrings given to her by a mother whose daughter had tragically taken her own life after battling depression earlier in the year, keeping a promise to wear them.
