Misha Nonoo Drops Meghan Markle from Circle; Claims Meghan Married the Wrong Guy After Chevron-Hess Deal Worth $53B

There's a lot of talk about Meghan Markle in Los Angeles right now because her friend Misha Nonoo's family recently announced the massive $58 billion sale of Hess Oil to Chevron. Chevron confirmed the deal to buy competitor Hess on Monday, making the news official and contributing to yet another major oil industry consolidation.

To put this into context, Hess was only worth $1.5 billion in 2018. Ironically, everyone in Meghan Markle's social circle appears to be having extraordinary success—everyone save her. Misha Nonoo, who got a leg up in her career by marrying oil tycoon Mike Hess in 2019, and even her ex-husband Trevor Engelson married a multi-millionaire. Marcus Anderson, who played a role in introducing Meghan to Misha, found his way to a billionaire.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle, who married Prince Harry, didn't seem to find herself in a financial windfall. In fact, the majority of Harry's wealth is tied up in his inheritance, and Meghan's plans to build their brand into a billion-dollar empire haven't quite come to fruition.

Back in September, Misha Nonoo gave a glimpse into her luxurious wedding ceremony on Instagram, celebrating her fourth anniversary with Mike Hess. The British-born fashion designer, who resides in New York and is renowned for her eponymous clothing line, shared photos from the lavish ceremony. In the pictures, you can see the couple sharing a kiss at the end of the aisle, with a red-haired individual, likely Prince Harry, in the front row. The wedding took place at the Villa Aurelia in Rome and was attended by prominent figures, including Meghan and Prince Harry, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Paul McCartney, and many others.

Despite their front-row seats at the wedding, Meghan and Misha's interactions have dwindled. The last time they were spotted together was in the fall of 2021 when they attended Vax Live in New York and met for cocktails at the Carlyle Bar. However, since then, contact between them has seemingly ceased, indicating that Meghan may have been "ghosted" by Misha.

The H family, into which Misha married, holds strong family values and would be selective about who enters their inner circle. This selectiveness would explain why Meghan's presence is unlikely in their circle, as the family consists of true billionaires. Meghan and Misha's friendship dates back several years, and it was Marcus Anderson, Soho House's Global Membership Director, who initially introduced them. The introduction took place during a Miami trip in December 2014, where they bonded over their shared interests in art and culture.
