In order to have a better chance of creating their own reality TV show modelled after the Kardashians, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are frantically trying to increase their popularity in Hollywood.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have gone on numerous excursions in recent months, which have generated a lot of media attention for the couple.
In her article for News.com.au, royal commentator Daniela Elser noted that there are "signs that Harry and Meghan are going full-tilt Hollywood and cracking the LA power klatch have been appearing for months now."
The couple was photographed at a dinner with Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of Bumble. At a Beyoncé concert in September, Meghan was also spotted mingling with famous people, including Jeff Bezos, Ted Sarandos, Adele, Kim Kardashian, Ma Jenner, the Biebers, Chris Rock, and Lizzo. The couple also attended Kevin Costner's One805 charity event in October.
This appears to be the couple's attempt to build "the makings of stable, long-term careers" in addition to their Spotify and Netflix careers, according to Elser.
"It could go a long way to overriding the impression of them as serial woe-is-us cavil-er," she wrote. "If the focus of Sussexes' reality TV appearance was, say, aligned with one of their major causes and sought to reframe them as America's First Couple of Caring."
Furthermore, it might give their brand the much-needed populist boost. The duchess' net popularity has only decreased recently as a result of her decision to embrace a much more public profile, according to polling data released last week and reported by Newsweek.
Angela Levin, the royal biographer, previously told GB News that Harry and Meghan are eager to "social climb" in Hollywood.
