Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Forbidden from King's Birthday: Buckingham Palace Denies Travel and Lodging Payments

Buckingham Palace has made it clear that the Sussexes are not invited to attend the King's birthday celebration. They issued a statement declaring that there will be no travel and lodging payments for overseas guests. King Charles's upcoming 75th birthday festivities are set to be low-key and family-oriented.

The decision stems from a year filled with significant royal events, including Queen Elizabeth's historic Platinum Jubilee, a period of national mourning following a death and funeral last September, and King Charles's own coronation in May.

While these events have showcased the best of Britain, they have also required extensive coordination, planning, and considerable expenditure from the public purse. King Charles, known for his unassuming nature, is mindful of the recent spate of grand royal events. Consequently, he has opted for a more understated approach to mark his birthday.

Insiders suggest that there will be fewer fly-pasts and marches, with a greater emphasis on conducting public engagements, potentially involving a simple cake or a brief celebratory speech in the lead-up to the big day on November 14th.

Additionally, there may be a private dinner, possibly held at Highgrove, King Charles's country residence in Gloucestershire. Queen Camilla is expected to organize this gathering for close friends and family. The palace has made this announcement with an eye on minimizing costs to the public budget.

In terms of logistics, it has been announced that there will be no provision for travel and accommodation payments for delegates or guests residing outside the country. This development has sparked speculation about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, both of whom currently reside in America. It appears that this announcement serves as a discreet way of indicating that they have not been invited to King Charles's intimate celebration.

However, a day prior to King Charles's official birthday, a meaningful charity event is scheduled to take place, with the support of Dumfrey House. Dumfrey House will host a special party to toast King Charles's 75th birthday, and they are seeking nominations for guests from surrounding communities who are also celebrating turning 75 this year.

The Princess Foundation has revealed plans for celebrity events, complete with live entertainment, dancing, and refreshments, at both Highgrove Gardens and Dumfrey House. This initiative aligns with the Princess Foundation's health and well-being program, which organizes monthly tea dances at the Kunuk Estate to combat loneliness and social isolation.

Online nominations for guests to attend the Dumfrey House event have already opened, encouraging submissions from individuals in the Dumfrey and Galloway areas, as well as the Glasgow and Clyde Valley region.

The aim is to recognize those who have made positive contributions to their local communities or who would benefit from the companionship and celebration offered by such an event. The celebratory afternoon will unfold on Monday, the 13th of November, featuring live music, afternoon tea, dancing, and opportunities for social interaction.

A spokesperson for the Princess Foundation expressed their desire to do something special in honor of King Charles's 75th birthday, with a focus on serving their communities. They believe it is fitting to invite individuals who share the same milestone year to partake in this celebratory occasion at their beautiful venues.
