The figure they see on screen in frequent interviews and the woke persona portrayed in the Netflix documentary "Harry and Meghan," as well as his autobiography, bear little resemblance to the hedonistic charmer they once knew.
According to friends who spoke to The Mail on Sunday, signs of this personal transformation were evident from the early days of Harry and Meghan's relationship. It all began with an incident involving granola.
During a shooting weekend, Harry surprised his friends by avoiding the communal breakfast of bacon and eggs and instead squirreling away bowls of granola to take to his bedroom. When asked about this unusual behavior, Harry explained that he and Meghan had been doing dawn yoga and wanted to have breakfast together alone in their room.
This particular shooting weekend had been organized by Meghan as an opportunity for her to get to know Harry's friends better. However, things took an unexpected turn when Meghan became upset over personalized embroidered blankets that were the wrong shade of red. She refused to dine with Harry's friends and insisted that Harry comply with all her requests.
One of Harry's friends expressed frustration when recalling the incident, stating, "I didn't like her from the beginning. She always conveyed a sense of being different and superior to us. She established her own boundaries, and the irony is that granola, if not chosen carefully, can be quite unhealthy and loaded with sugar. Opting for eggs would have provided at least some protein."
What perplexed Harry's friends even more was Meghan's reaction to the situation with the red blanket. They couldn't fathom why she became so irate over such a minor detail. It was a telling moment that highlighted the extent to which Harry was willing to accommodate her. During an early London dinner party, Meghan caused a scene because she wasn't seated next to Harry, despite British custom suggesting that couples should sit apart.
When questioned about her behavior, Harry simply shrugged it off, much to the chagrin of his friends. One source recounted, "She wanted to sit next to Harry and felt offended that she wasn't. We looked to Harry for an explanation, and he just said, 'I know, but she's so hot.' The dinner party then devolved into a rather uncomfortable affair."
It appeared that Meghan often treated social situations as if they were Hollywood networking events, leaving Harry's friends bewildered by her behavior.
