Prince Harry Surprised as William and Kate Opt Out of Christmas with Royal Family

Prince William and Kate reportedly have no intention of spending Christmas at Sandringham in the absence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This change in plans appears to be an element of Harry and Meghan's evolving strategy, but according to a royal insider, it may not settle well with William and Kate.  Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may accept a royal invitation this year, their absence would be due to other fraught relationships within the royal family, specifically with Prince William and Kate.

Conversely, an alternative source posits that in the event that William and Kate remain in Norfolk, the king might extend a New Year's invitation to Harry and Meghan to partake with them in Scotland. The source asserts that this would afford the king the chance to reconcile with one of his sons while not neglecting the other. It is improbable that Harry and Meghan would be greeted warmly even if they accepted a Christmas invitation, given reports that William and Kate are not prepared to assume the responsibilities of a harmonious family.

Following weeks of silence, recent reports speculated that Prince Harry extended an invitation to Prince Charles for his birthday celebration on November 14. Buckingham Palace initially declined to comment, but later confirmed that a phone call had occurred, with another call scheduled for the following week.  In the interim, sources close to the Sussexes informed the Sunday Times that the couple were open to new experiences and would gladly accept a Christmas invitation to Sandringham. However, sources are now questioning the timing and strategy of Harry and Meghan.

As a trend that began in 2018, insiders disclosed that both Harry and Meghan were extended invitations by the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles to partake in the family gathering at Balmoral this summer. However, they both chose not to attend. This prompts an inquiry into the rationale behind their current shift in approach. There is speculation that contemporary commercial products, such as Spotify, have encountered censure and mockery from television programs like South Park and Family Guy. This has prompted suggestions that Harry and Meghan may express dissatisfaction with the difficulties associated with their royal family status.

Additionally, due to the limited availability of space, Christmas preparations at Sandringham are generally concluded well in advance. Nevertheless, the Sussexes' failure to receive an invitation would be unexpected, given that they are more prone to celebrating the New Year in Scotland.
