Boohoo! Meghan Markle Compelled to Pay $300k as CEO Blames Her Damaging Ad for Brand's Decline

The newest trend sweeping through the world of celebrities and social media isn't a high-end designer bag; it's the super-sized insulated water tumbler. These oversized adult Sippy Cups, bordering on comically gigantic, have become a common sight at boutique gyms. They serve as a symbol for those embracing a health-conscious lifestyle, donned in Lululemon gear, indulging in salads, and professing their love for potes. The #StanleyCup, now boasting over 7 billion views on TikTok, has garnered a cult-like following online. Celebrities like actress Shea Mitchell and Love Islander are fervently promoting it.

These mega tumblers come in a plethora of colors, each edition selling out within minutes of release. Recently, Stanley created a social media frenzy with a highly anticipated limited edition collaboration with Starbucks for Valentine's Day. Videos surfaced of eager shoppers in America lining up overnight for the vibrant pink and red cups. Viral footage even captured an incident where a man attempted to grab a box, only to be tackled and confronted by other customers who had queued for hours. Now, these sought-after cups are reselling for as much as £150 each on eBay.

Megan Markle swiftly hopped on the trend to align herself with the brands. Last month, she starred in a new ad for the coffee brand Clever Blends, in which she engages in typical office activities, featuring the now-popular desk prop of 2023 – the track tumbler from the drinkware brand Simple Modern. Megan intentionally showcased the tumbler, emphasizing Simple Modern's core value of generosity, as they donate at least 10% of profits to various nonprofits. However, sources close to WME staff reveal that Simple Modern overlooked Megan's intention.

Although Megan added their product to Cameo, the brand neither hired her nor had any contracts with her, refusing to share a percentage of profits. The CEO of Simple Modern, Mike Beckham, even demanded $300,000 in compensation, claiming Megan's advertising damaged their brand. Beckham argued that Megan, as a lady in her 40s, doesn't fit the mold of influencers for big luxury brands like Gwyneth Paltrow or Courtney Kardashian.

The Palace CER dismisses Megan's ad appearance as strictly financially motivated, criticizing her for demeaning her royal title in pursuit of boosting sales. The sarcastic comment suggests that Megan, just like Clever Blends, may have her own toxicity problems, from royal balconies to peddling coffee and merchandise with stress patches in parking lots
