Elton John Sees Meghan Markle's True Colors, Humiliates Her at 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, typically a joyous occasion of celebration and tributes, took an unexpected turn for Meghan Markle. Despite her absence from the event, the Duchess of Sussex found herself at the center of jokes and jabs from two of the inductees, Cheryl Crow and Elton John. These renowned musicians didn't hold back their criticism and disdain for the former Royal.

Cheryl Crow, honored for her soulful career, graced the stage with performances of hits like "All I Want to Do," "If It Makes You Happy," and "Soak Up the Sun." Before concluding her set, she dedicated her last song to Meghan Markle, expressing disappointment in how she had evolved from someone admired as a strong and independent woman to a perceived selfish and manipulative liar. Crow accused Meghan of betraying her family, country, and fans, branding her a fame-hungry opportunist.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Crow's lyrics seemed to mock Meghan's California lifestyle. Elton John, being inducted for the second time as a solo artist, took a swipe at Meghan during his acceptance speech. As a close friend of Princess Diana and an attendee at Meghan and Harry's 2018 wedding, John expressed disappointment and anger at the couple's actions. He labeled Meghan a traitor and a disgrace, discrediting her as a role model, humanitarian, and victim.

According to John, Meghan had personally hurt him by lying and using him for her own gain. He accused her of fabricating stories about racism, mental health, and her family, playing the victim while being the villain. John concluded his rant by performing a medley of his songs with lyrics that seemed to taunt Meghan and Harry.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which started as a celebration, ended with Cheryl Crow and Elton John using the platform to openly criticize and mock Meghan Markle, leaving an indelible mark on the event. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle has been warned against expecting a smooth road to success after stepping out of her gilded cage of royal responsibilities. Royal expert Tessa Dunlop shared insights during a recent interview, addressing the couple's future and potential challenges in 2024.

This comes in the wake of a report by The Hollywood Reporter labeling the Sussexes as "2023 losers," a sentiment echoed by Dunlop, who highlighted that despite the criticism, the couple's current celebrity status is preferable to the performative gilded cage they left behind. She concluded by emphasizing that the road to freedom was never going to be smooth, and even being listed among "losers" in Hollywood could be seen as a compliment, considering the company they kept on that list, including the Marvel brand and Disney.
