Celebrating the arrival of 2016 in Iceland, she stood in the snow-covered landscape under a sign that read "town of elves," wearing ripped jeans, a black sweater, a blazer, sunglasses, and chunky winter boots. Meghan captioned the photos, "Happy New Year from Iceland 2016. What a pleasure meeting you, my dear. Cheers to another amazing year ahead." The excitement around Meghan's social media presence heightened in 2023 when it was revealed that she had rejoined Instagram.
This followed the deactivation of her popular account, The Tig, ahead of her engagement, and the closure of her joint account with Prince Harry upon stepping back as senior members of the royal family in the beginning of 2020. An Instagram account named Megan gained 125,000 followers in the summer of 2023, but no photos have been shared yet.
It was initially created in 2022, around the time Meghan launched her now-defunct podcast. Page 6, a gossip column, quoted a source saying, "In the summer of 2023, Meghan was scheduled to go live on Instagram but changed her mind shortly before launching her podcast. So, she is there now."
The couple announced their engagement in 2017, and before joining the royal family, Meghan closed her personal account. Initially sharing the name Kensington Royal with Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, the couple has shown a passion for travel. They recently enjoyed a sunny pre-Christmas holiday with their children in Costa Rica earlier this month.
Photos obtained by C Hoy, a news publication in the Central American country, showed Meghan holding her young daughter, Lilibet, whose face was hidden but her blonde hair was on full display. The pre-Christmas holiday portrayed Megan in an elegant black dress and sun hat, while Lilibet wore a white dress with her blonde locks pulled into a ponytail. Another photo from the trip depicted Harry, Meghan, and Archie sitting together in a golf cart, with the young prince on his father's lap.
