Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Left Feeling Wounded and Plotting Their Next Move After Snub

Meghan and Harry find themselves nursing emotional wounds after a snub, with a PR expert suggesting that the couple may be reeling from their Netflix documentary failing to secure an Emmy despite its widespread viewership. The tell-all documentary, watched by millions and boasting 81.6 billion hours viewed on Netflix, surprisingly received no nominations for the prestigious award this year.  This year, as well as the previous one, the couple chose to forgo the glamorous Hollywood event, and their documentary missed out on any nominations. Despite the impressive viewership and record-breaking debut, the couple did not receive any accolades.

PR expert Lin Karat expressed that this turn of events may have left Meghan and Harry feeling somewhat wounded, given the documentary's popularity. Karat noted that the Sussexes faced tough competition for nominations, emphasizing that this isn't the first time they've experienced a snub. The expert pointed out that the 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, while nominated in the outstanding hosted non-fiction series or special category, did not secure a nomination for Harry and Meghan personally. This is not unfamiliar territory for Meghan, who, during her seven seasons on "Suits," never received Emmy or Golden Globe Award nominations. Despite a 2018 submission for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series, she did not make the final cut.

Karat suggested that recognition for the documentary would likely mean more to Meghan than Harry, as achieving such acknowledgment aligns with one of her ambitions. Looking ahead, the expert predicts that the couple will redirect their focus toward securing producer award nominations. Productions such as their upcoming movie, "Meet Me at the Lake," in collaboration with Netflix through their production company Archewell Productions, could be pivotal in this pursuit. Bestselling author Kaye Fortune confirmed her excitement about working with the couple on the film adaptation, stating, "Will and Fern's love story is dear to my heart, and I can't imagine a more perfect partnership."
