Kensington Palace shared in a statement that Kate is making positive progress in her recovery. In a noteworthy gesture, the 41-year-old Prince of Wales has temporarily stepped down from his public duties to take care of Kate and their three children: Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5). During Kate's hospitalization, it's understood that George, Charlotte, and Louis spent time with their grandparents, Carol and Michael Middleton, at their home in Bucklebury, Berkshire.
Family members, including Middleton siblings Pippa Matthews and James Middleton, reportedly visited Kate in the hospital. Looking back, Prince William and Kate have previously enjoyed vacations with the Middleton family, such as a trip to the Caribbean island of Mystique in 2019 to celebrate Carol's birthday.
Notably, Carol and Michael sold their family business, Party Pieces, which they established in 1987, to businessman James Sinclair last year. This information surfaced in May, and the Middletons were seen celebrating at Kate's Christmas party in December.
Carol, reflecting on birthdays during winter in a 2021 Instagram post, shared her perspective on making the most of the special day, even in challenging circumstances. She emphasized the importance of loved ones contributing to a day filled with surprises, mentioning how balloons and bright colors can transform the atmosphere for at-home celebrations.
Kate's siblings, James and Pippa, have their own unique stories. Carol and Michael met while working for British Airways, tying the knot in 1980. Their eldest daughter, Katherine, who would later become Queen, was born two years later, followed by Pippa in 1983 and James in 1987.
The Middletons are now proud grandparents to George, Charlotte, and Louis, as well as Pippa's three children: Arthur, Grace, and Rose. They recently welcomed their seventh grandchild, Inigo, the son of James Middleton and Alisy.
