Prince Philip's Document: Meghan Markle Dubbed 'Second Wallis' in Warning to Queen About Prince Harry's Wife

A recently disclosed document reveals that Prince Philip referred to Meghan as the "Second Wallis" while cautioning Queen Elizabeth about Prince Harry's wife. Following Prince Philip's death in 2021, Prince Harry expressed that his grandfather would always hold a special place in their hearts, unaware that Philip did not reciprocate those sentiments towards Meghan. According to a new book by Ingrid Seward, the editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, Prince Philip, detecting a similarity between Meghan and Wallis Simpson, unfavorably referred to her as "The Duchess of Wiza" in an excerpt from the forthcoming book "My Mother and I," which explores Queen Elizabeth II's relationship with her son, King Charles III.

In the excerpt published by the Daily Mail, Seward detailed how Queen Elizabeth had a favorable opinion of Meghan after meeting her at Buckingham Palace in 2017, hoping for positive contributions from the American actress for the youth of the Commonwealth. However, while the Queen championed Harry's girlfriend, Prince Philip warned her to be cautious. He remarked that Meghan reminded him of the disruptive force that Wallis Simpson had been in the royal family. Wallis, a glamorous American divorcee, caused King Edward VIII to abdicate the throne in 1936, leading to his brother's reluctant ascension.

Prince Philip's skepticism towards Meghan persisted, and Seward noted that he never seemed to change his opinion about her. His ability to see through what he considered fake people stood in contrast to the Queen's more trusting nature. Although Queen Elizabeth II never publicly expressed her opinion about Harry's wife, she did confide in close acquaintances, such as Lady Elizabeth Anson, who revealed the Queen's remark about Meghan's wedding gown being "too white" for a remarriage in church.

Interestingly, the document suggests that Prince Philip's concerns led the palace to cover up a thorough investigation into Meghan's past by MI5. This revelation came to light after Prince Harry sold antique guns left to him by Prince Philip, raising questions about Meghan's influence. In the latter years, the Queen reportedly referred to Meghan as "evil," echoing Prince Philip's earlier warning. Prince Philip's discernment extended to Prince Harry as well, explaining the lack of information about him from Harry's side, and Harry eventually sold the antique guns influenced by Meghan's suggestion.
