Meghan Markle has packed her bags and made her way back to the United States, and it's not for any ordinary reason. According to a royal expert, the Duchess of Sussex decided to leave the royal family on her own accord.
The decision for Meghan to return to the US and vow never to return to the UK was apparently driven by her desire to be in the spotlight. The royal expert suggests that Meghan, who recently launched a brand inspired by her California roots, has no intentions of coming back to the UK despite any encouragements to do so.
"I'm of the opinion that Meghan will never set foot in the UK again. I don't think she wants anything to do with it," said the royal correspondent during an exclusive program.
It seems Meghan's departure from the royal family was more about her ambitions than anything else. The expert explains, "I don't think she understood the hierarchy of the royal family. You have the king, you have the Prince of Wales, and then you have everyone else. She wanted to be the star, and I think she simply thought she could just pick up her things and leave for America."
Meghan and Harry announced their intentions to step back as senior members of the royal family in January 2020. The royal family issued a supportive statement, but tensions continued to rise. By March 2020, the couple had settled in California, where they lived with Tyler Perry. Nearly a year later, the royal family announced that Harry and Meghan would no longer work as members of the royal family.
The relationship between the couple and the royal family further deteriorated with their controversial interview with Oprah, where Meghan claimed she had been silenced during her time as a royal.
