I've got a really big story for you all today regarding huge revelations from Royal expert Angela Levin about Meghan Markle and her behavior towards staff. As we all know, a few days ago Buckingham Palace announced they would be launching an investigation into allegations that Meghan bullied Palace staff when she was a working Royal living at Kensington Palace. Well, Angela Levin appeared on Australian breakfast show Sunrise this morning, and she did not hold back when talking about Meghan and what she knows about the duchess' behavior behind closed doors. She said some pretty shocking things that really exposed the real Meghan Markle, so let's get into what Angela had to say.
The hosts of Sunrise started off by asking Angela for her take on the bullying report that has come out. Angela responded by saying she wasn't at all surprised by the allegations. She said, "I spent a year with Meghan writing a biography of her, and I picked up very early on that she is a very strong woman that knows what she wants, and very often can get quite upset if she doesn't get her own way."
Angela went on to reveal that during her time shadowing Meghan for her book, she witnessed firsthand how Meghan would behave when she didn't like something or someone. She said, "On a few occasions when things weren't going her way, I definitely saw a few occasions where she lost her temper and could be quite cutting."
The hosts were obviously taken aback by this revelation from a royal expert like Angela. They pressed her for more details on specific incidents she witnessed of Meghan losing her temper with staff or others. Angela then launched into a story about a fitting she observed for Meghan's Royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga in 2018. She said Meghan was trying on some outfits with her team to select what she would wear on the various engagements, but Meghan was very unhappy with the options being presented. According to Angela, Meghan said things like, "I can't believe you made me fly all the way to the UK to try on clothes. Nothing fits me, nothing looks good. What's the point of you all?" Angela said Meghan's voice was raised, and she had a look of contempt on her face as she berated her team of dressers and advisers. One woman even started crying because she felt so ashamed that she had failed Meghan.
Angela said this was just one example of many incidents she saw where Meghan lost her temper in an inappropriate way towards staff if they didn't deliver exactly what she wanted. The hosts were understandably shocked by Angela revealing witnessing Meghan verbally abusing staff so severely that someone ended up in tears. They asked Angela if she had heard similar stories from others working closely with Meghan during her time in the UK. She replied, "Oh, definitely. After my book came out and people realized I had spent time with Meghan, I had many Palace staff and advisers contact me privately to share their own stories about experiencing Meghan's poor treatment of them."
Angela shared two more examples Palace staff had disclosed to her. The first involved a stressful time when Meghan and Harry were preparing for their wedding in 2018. She said a very senior Palace aide who had worked for the queen for decades told her that in the lead up to the wedding, Meghan wore him down with constant demands and last-minute changes. According to the aide, Meghan expected everything to be done instantly and would scream things like, "Why isn't this ready yet? I asked for it hours ago," when the reality was her overbearing demands were placing immense stress on an understaffed team. The aide told Angela he'd never experienced anything like it in his long career serving the royal family. He said Meghan was an impossible boss who never showed appreciation for everyone's hard work.
The final story Angela revealed was perhaps the worst of all in terms of Meghan's behavior. She said another very senior Palace staff member told her about an incident around Christmas 2018 where Meghan had become enraged at her private secretary for having to follow protocol when it came to opening mail and parcels for security reasons. According to the source, Meghan flew into a blind rage, screaming, "It's my mail, I'll open what I want." The source said Meghan picked up the phone on the poor secretary's desk and launched it across the room, shattering a large mirror in the process. Meghan then stormed out, leaving the shattered glass and distraught secretary behind.
Angela said based on other interactions these staff members had described with Meghan, it was clearly a pattern of unprofessional and emotionally abusive behavior from The Duchess towards those serving her.
