Strained Relationship: Meghan Markle Expresses Discontent over Prince Andrew's Treatment by Royal Family. The rift between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Royal Family emerged when the couple decided to step down from their roles. According to a royal expert, Meghan Markle has voiced her surprise at the unequal treatment she perceives compared to Prince Andrew, who has not faced complete ostracization by the Royal Family despite the challenges she and Prince Harry have endured.
Despite their departure from senior royal duties four years ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex continue to maintain a strained relationship with the Firm. In contrast, Prince Andrew retains his position as a senior member of the Royal Family, despite facing allegations of sexual assault from Virginia Giuffre when she was 17, allegations that he vehemently denies.
Although Prince Andrew has refrained from official royal engagements following the scandal, he remains part of the Royal Family. However, royal author Tom Quinn suggests that Meghan desires to see Andrew "pushed out" due to his "appalling" behavior.
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Tom Quinn stated, "The fact that Prince Andrew has not been completely ostracized is another deep source of grievance for Meghan – she's been pushed out, so why not Andrew, who has behaved appallingly? Meghan has a point, but what she doesn't see is that for all his faults, Andrew has at least followed the royal family's instructions: Andrew was told to say nothing after his disgrace, and he continues to say nothing."
Andrew has been accused of engaging in sexual relations with Giuffre, who claims to have been trafficked by Andrew's friend, convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, and passed between his acquaintances for sexual purposes. Andrew has firmly denied these allegations.
In January 2022, following a New York judge's ruling that the Queen's son would face trial over the accusations, Buckingham Palace announced that Andrew would be stripped of his royal titles. A month later, he settled the civil sexual assault case brought against him in the US by Ms. Giuffre for a reported £12 million. The settlement did not entail an admission of liability, guilt, or wrongdoing on Prince Andrew's part.
Meghan and Harry have experienced increasing estrangement from the Royal Family in recent years, with the couple making several shocking allegations against the Firm. Meghan has accused members of the Royal Family, including the late Princess of Wales, of mistreatment, claiming that she was made to cry shortly before her wedding and that she had been "silenced" by the royal establishment.
Prince Harry has also criticized his brother, Prince William, and his father, King Charles. In his memoir titled "Spare," the Duke of Sussex revealed an explosive argument with his brother, during which he alleges that the Prince of Wales referred to Meghan as "difficult," "rude," and "abrasive." Harry further claims that his brother physically confronted him, grabbing his collar and knocking him to the floor, resulting in his necklace being torn.
