Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Turn to Unexpected Royal for Privacy Advice

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced criticism for their pursuit of fame despite ongoing concerns over their privacy. The spotlight on their public activities intensified as Princess Madeleine of Sweden recently made headlines for her decision to return to her homeland after living in Florida since 2018. Accompanied by her husband, Christopher O’Neill, and their three children, Madeleine’s move has sparked comparisons to the Sussexes’ high-profile relocation to the United States.

Royal experts and commentators have pointed out that the Sussexes could have opted for a quieter move similar to Princess Madeleine's if their priority truly was privacy. "Princess Madeleine and Chris don’t seek out fame," emphasized Shannon Felton Spence, a former British public affairs official, in an interview with Fox News Digital. "They want to live a normal life."

Christopher O’Neill, an accomplished financier, notably declined both Swedish citizenship and an official title to maintain his focus as a private citizen in finance. Spence highlighted him as an example of someone who has married into royalty while staying true to his personal values.

Reflecting on previous changes within the Swedish royal family, Spence mentioned how Madeleine's father took away titles and HRH status from grandchildren not in the direct line of succession, a move that was accepted without complaint by the Swedish court and seen as a positive step for the younger generation.

The announcement from the Palace indicated that Princess Madeleine's relocation to Sweden was initially planned for August 2023 but has since been rescheduled to this year, signifying a significant decision for her family's future.
