We can’t help but adore it when the Royal Family engages in everyday activities—just like the time the Wales family was spotted enjoying burgers and fries at a local pub in Norfolk. This past weekend was no different, as Prince William dropped off Princess Charlotte at a pizza restaurant in Pagliasso for one of her classmate's birthday parties. Yes, you heard right—it was a pizza party!
While Charlotte spent time at the party just like any other child, her arrival was certainly a bit more unique, as you might expect for the daughter of a future king. In footage obtained by the Italian newspaper *Lampa*, the father-daughter duo is seen entering the restaurant, flanked by several security guards, and greeting the staff. Princess Charlotte displayed her confidence as she walked ahead of Prince William, arriving at her friend's birthday party in Fulham.
In the short CCTV clip, Prince William is casually dressed in a maroon jumper and jeans, holding a gift wrapped in pink paper. He can be seen smiling and shaking hands with staff members as he drops off his only daughter. Meanwhile, Charlotte looked adorable in a dark-colored coat and tights, with her hair tied in a low ponytail—super cute!
The Italian newspaper also reported that three SUVs pulled up in front of the restaurant in Fulham, and several bodyguards entered before Prince William and Princess Charlotte. It was said that the restaurant owner, Tio Cito, asked Prince William for a selfie, but the prince politely declined, as royals are generally not permitted to take selfies. Afterward, Prince William left Charlotte to enjoy the party and was spotted returning a few hours later to pick her up—just normal dad duties, right?
Of course, none of this would even make the news if we didn’t expect royals to leave such tasks to their nannies. It’s heartwarming to see that the Wales family makes it a priority to spend quality time with their children, even for everyday occasions like birthday parties.
Interestingly, this particular restaurant might have stirred up some emotions for Prince William, as it was said to be a favorite spot of his late mother, Princess Diana. The restaurant owner shared that Diana would often stop by with her bodyguards after her gymnastics sessions nearby, ordering a margherita pizza with salami to take home and enjoy with William and Harry.
Princess Catherine has also revealed that her three children love pizza, just like their dad. She even mentioned that they enjoy making Italian food together. "I've done that with George and Charlotte—making pizza dough. They love it because they can get their hands messy," she confessed, adding that it's a fun family activity.
It seems that birthday parties might be a regular occurrence for the young royals. According to school rules, if anyone in Charlotte’s class is hosting a birthday bash, every child in the class must be invited so no one feels left out. A source close to the Wales family also shared that Charlotte’s school discourages students from having “best friends” to promote inclusivity and kindness. The school places a strong emphasis on kindness and pastoral care, with signs everywhere reminding students to "be kind."
All of this shows that the royal children are thankfully not being raised on a strict diet of fancy lobster and caviar, contrary to what some might imagine when they think of royal life. Prince William even shared a glimpse of Charlotte’s growing sassiness when she was just six years old. During an engagement in the West Midlands, he joked, “If you ask her, she’ll say she’s 16. Charlotte said, ‘I’m six now, I’ll do what I want.’”
