Prince William Decides to Relent to King Charles' Wishes About Prince Harry
Prince William, who has dominated headlines throughout the year due to his stance on Prince Harry, is reportedly reconsidering his position on his younger brother.
Harry’s shocking claims in his memoir *Spare* and interviews, particularly following his departure from royal duties in 2020, left his royal family deeply hurt. The Duke of Sussex’s revelations, which caused significant tension, seemed to have strained his relationship with his family. Prince William, in particular, was accused of “holding back” King Charles when it came to any potential reunion with Harry. Now, it appears William has decided to give his brother another chance to prove his loyalty to the royal family.
This shift in attitude comes after the Prince and Princess of Wales publicly celebrated Harry’s milestone 40th birthday in September, sparking hope for a potential reconciliation between the two brothers. The efforts behind the scenes of Princess Catherine and King Charles have been instrumental in bridging the gap between William and Harry.
Both Kate and William, while still hurt by Harry’s actions, have reportedly chosen to acquiesce to King Charles' wishes for family unity. The 76-year-old monarch, who longs for a closer bond with his son, seems unwilling to upset his heir, William, in the process.
Royal expert Hilary Fordwich previously explained, “If anyone would relent, it would be King Charles III, whom, of course, Prince William won’t challenge.” She went on to highlight that Charles still misses his “darling boy” and hopes to see more of Harry.
However, Fordwich also acknowledged the deep rift between the brothers, noting that after the passing of his hardline grandfather, Prince Philip, William is now the “most unlikely royal to ever forgive Harry for all his despicable indiscretions.” She also revealed that it’s widely known within the family that William has “laid down an absolute ban” on Harry returning in any capacity.
Despite this, it seems that the relationship between the royal family and the Sussexes is beginning to heal, with surprising steps toward reconciliation. Still, some members of the royal family and courtiers continue to urge King Charles to consider cutting his youngest son, Harry, out of his will.
