Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix Series 'Polo' Slammed by Critics

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Given Harsh Verdict After ‘Colossal’ Mistake

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have received a brutal verdict following the release of their latest Netflix documentary, *Polo*, which has been widely criticized by viewers and reviewers alike. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were once seen as the future of media content, have been labeled “box office poison” after the show failed to capture the audience's attention.

*Polo*, a five-episode documentary focusing on the elite sport of polo, has received scathing reviews and is being described as a major disappointment. This failure could jeopardize their future with Netflix, especially as their current contract, signed in 2020 for an estimated $100 million, is up for renewal next year.

The upcoming release of Meghan Markle’s cookery show has now become the focus of attention, but with *Polo* having received minimal promotion from both Netflix and its participants, many are questioning the Sussexes' future with the streaming giant. Marketing expert Tony Case has suggested that many are distancing themselves from the show, fearing association with its poor reception. "The critics have universally slammed the show. Harry and Meghan are box office poison. Of course everyone is running away from it, in every direction, so as to not pick up the stench of this colossal bomb," he remarked.

Speaking to *The Daily Beast*, Case warned that the Sussexes' image may be difficult to repair, adding that their attempt to "conquer America" has fallen short. “Nobody here, it turned out, found them or what they’re peddling to be particularly compelling.”

Meghan Markle’s new Netflix project, linked to her American Riviera Orchard brand, is drawing further critical attention. Sources close to Netflix suggest that the streaming giant’s patience with the couple may be running thin, as their considerable investment in the partnership has yielded disappointing results.

One insider described Meghan’s upcoming show as a "make or break" project for the Sussexes. Their $100 million contract with Netflix is set to come up for renewal soon, and there are doubts about whether the deal will be extended.

Royal expert Kevin O’Sullivan is also skeptical about the couple’s future with Netflix. On his *What Just Happened* program, O’Sullivan described *Polo* as a “disastrous” release for the Sussexes. “Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s career as TV producers has fallen like a horse at the first hurdle,” he said. "After the disastrous release of their big new Netflix series *Polo*, the chances of the streaming giant renewing their gruesome twosome’s lucrative contract are virtually zero. Their naive dream of turning into titans of the TV industry is dead in the water."
