Prince Harry's year has certainly taken a series of unfortunate turns, hasn't it? It seems like things just keep getting worse for him. And when you look closely at the situation, much of it can be traced back to decisions that he and Meghan Markle have made. I don’t want to sound too harsh, especially around the holiday season, but it’s hard to ignore the victim narrative that Harry and Meghan have been pushing—something that many people have grown weary of.
If they had perhaps been a little kinder and more considerate along the way, they might have received a little more compassion in return. After all, the media has never been particularly kind to them, especially after they singled out certain publications, saying they would no longer work with them. Ironically, now it seems they’re desperately seeking anyone willing to cover their stories, regardless of whether the coverage is positive or not.
Megan, in particular, seemed to have had high hopes for landing the big-time journalism gigs—think *Vogue* or *Harper’s Bazaar*. However, what she ended up with were publications like *O Weekly* and *People Magazine*, which have now even started to back off.
But there’s more to this story, and it gets even more dramatic for Prince Harry. Recently, there was a meeting between Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and the newly elected 47th President, Donald Trump, in Paris. This was a huge shock for Harry, and it’s about to get even worse for him.
Let’s break it down. As many of you know, President Trump isn’t exactly on Harry and Meghan’s list of favorites. There have been claims that Trump has been critical of their marriage and the couple in general, though I would argue that much of this has been in jest. Trump has long been a big admirer of the British monarchy, just as his late mother was. It’s clear he wants to say the right things about the royal family.
In fact, Trump has shown a great deal of respect for Britain’s royal traditions and heritage. He’s even been seen visiting the Churchill War Rooms in London, and according to an insider, he was absolutely fascinated, almost like a child in awe of what he was seeing. It’s nothing to be mocked, as many of us have been struck by the same wonder when encountering such historical sites.
But back to the meeting in Paris. This gathering between Prince William and Trump clearly rattled Harry, especially since William’s Earthshot Prize initiative is making waves, with more backing and growing success. The meeting between Trump and William reportedly went well, with Trump offering his full support for the Earthshot Prize, particularly from an American perspective. If William needs help expanding the initiative in the U.S., Trump said he would make sure the process is smooth.
This kind of support is certainly going to benefit Prince William as he works to grow the Earthshot Prize globally. And while Trump may not always align with the same views as Harry, especially regarding climate change and other issues, this gesture could prove valuable for William in the long run. However, what Harry didn’t expect was seeing his older brother and the incoming president form what seemed to be a bit of a connection—something Harry likely never imagined would happen.
Now, things are looking even more complicated for Prince Harry, as he watches his brother develop a relationship with someone he, and especially Meghan, don’t exactly admire. And this turn of events only adds to the rift that continues to grow between the two brothers.
