Kate Middleton and Carole’s Big Announcement: A Standing Ovation for the Mother-Daughter Duo!

Catherine and her mother celebrate their birthdays – January 9th for Catherine and January 31st for Carole.

After a difficult year, which saw Carole Middleton grappling with the worry of her daughter's cancer diagnosis, 2025 promises to be brighter. Last year, Catherine successfully completed her treatment, and the princess must have felt a sense of relief and hope as she prepared for her abdominal surgery shortly after her 42nd birthday. This year's birthday celebration is poised to be memorable, marking not only a fresh start but also the end of a tough year for the entire Middleton family.

Turning 43 may be daunting for some women, but for Catherine, every birthday now holds deeper significance, given her renewed outlook on life. Born on January 9, 1982, at Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, Catherine comes from an upper-middle-class family with ties to the landed gentry. Her parents, Michael Middleton and Carole Goldsmith, worked at British Airways as a flight dispatcher and flight attendant, respectively.

This birthday is especially meaningful for Catherine as a healthy, young woman. Her perspective on her 40s has changed, and she’s entering her 43rd year with gratitude and hope. The celebrations this year will likely reflect her new outlook on life—simple and warm. Catherine’s previous birthdays have been overshadowed by major events, such as the royal exit announcement by Prince Harry and Meghan in January 2020, and Harry’s memoir release in January 2023.

Ahead of her birthday, Catherine’s sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, has reignited excitement among fans with the release of the trailer for her upcoming Netflix series, "With Love, Megan." Interestingly, the trailer shows Meghan’s passion for beekeeping, which mirrors Catherine’s long-standing interest in the hobby. In May 2023, Catherine shared a photo of herself in protective gear tending to bees at her Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall, to celebrate World Bee Day. Beekeeping is a shared interest in the Middleton family, with Catherine’s younger brother, James Middleton, also embracing the hobby.

Fans immediately noticed the beekeeping connection, with some pointing out on social media, "Did anyone else spot the beekeeping scene? Princess Catherine has been keeping bees for years at their Norfolk home." Another wrote, "Looks like honey is trending—first Catherine, now Meghan."

Carole Middleton has previously shared her love for January, calling it a time for new beginnings. On the Party Pieces social media account, the business Carole co-founded with her husband, she wrote, "It's no surprise I've learned to love January. It's the start of a new year, a time to put healthy habits in place, and it's my birthday month, so there's every good reason to celebrate with loved ones."

However, Catherine admitted during the Christmas Carol Service in December 2023 that she had no idea that, just one month later, her life would change forever. Thankfully, her recovery has been successful, and this birthday will bring even more reason for Carole to smile.

Later in the year, Catherine is expected to make a grand appearance at Sandringham, where she will join the rest of the royal family for the traditional Christmas Day walk to church. King Charles and Camilla led the royal family on this walk, with the Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also in attendance, alongside Princess Beatrice.
