Scotland Yard Under Fire Over Prince Harry Phone Hacking Case

Scotland Yard Criticized for Inaction in Prince Harry's Phone Hacking Case Despite Court Ruling

Scotland Yard is facing mounting criticism over its failure to act on Prince Harry's phone hacking case, despite his court victory in December 2023. The Duke of Sussex was awarded £150,000 in damages after successfully suing the publisher of a British newspaper, but more than a year later, there has been no further movement on the matter.

The Metropolitan Police had previously pledged to “carefully consider” the High Court ruling, following Harry’s legal victory. However, with little progress made since the ruling, critics are questioning why no action has been taken, especially after the court uncovered evidence of widespread phone hacking at MGN’s publications.

Despite Prince Harry’s repeated calls for a comprehensive investigation, the police have remained silent, offering only a brief acknowledgment of the judgment without providing further details on any investigation.

As the Duke’s calls for justice continue to go unanswered, the public is left wondering whether Scotland Yard will eventually take further legal steps or if this matter will remain unresolved.
