Meghan Markle's much-anticipated Netflix series *With Love, Meghan* is set to premiere on January 15, 2025.
The Duchess of Sussex will star in the eight-part series, where she shares insights on cooking, gardening, and hosting with a range of friends and notable guests. The show promises a blend of practical advice and personal moments, all set against the backdrop of her California home.
Ahead of the series release, however, *With Love, Meghan* has garnered attention for its unexpected label: "reality TV." This categorization could create a contrast with previous statements Meghan made about her involvement in reality-style shows.
In 2020, as rumors of Meghan and Prince Harry filming a reality show for Netflix swirled, their spokesperson firmly denied any such plans, stating, "The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows." This statement came shortly after the couple signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Netflix to produce content, which included their controversial docuseries *Harry & Meghan*, alongside other projects, such as documentaries about Harry’s Invictus Games and the sport of polo.
Until now, all of Meghan and Harry’s Netflix productions have been classified by the streaming platform under categories like biographical documentaries, social and cultural docs, and US TV programs. *With Love, Meghan*, however, breaks new ground by embracing the reality TV genre.
The series is described as "an inspiring lifestyle program" in the official synopsis, which reads: "Produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, the series reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-tos and candid conversation with friends, new and old."
The description continues: "Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, inviting you to do the same."
It will be interesting to see how the series resonates with viewers when it premieres next year, especially with its surprising reality TV label.
