Meghan Markle was reportedly given a nickname by Spotify employees after her behavior during the production of her podcast series *Archetypes*. According to UK royal source Neil Sean, speaking to Fox News on January 23rd, Meghan's interactions with staff were far from warm and welcoming, with the Duchess reportedly only speaking to a select few higher-ranking officials.
The employees, noticing what they described as rude behavior, gave Meghan the nickname "Eva Philips," drawing inspiration from Joan Crawford's character in the 1955 movie *Queen Bee*. Sean revealed that this name was used as a “warning signal,” meant to alert others when Meghan was nearby or in a confrontational mood.
The nickname was not meant as a term of endearment. In fact, it was an insult, as Sean explained. The character Eva Philips, much like Meghan, was seen as a diva who would "sting her victims to pieces." According to Sean, this is exactly how Spotify employees felt working with Markle.
The name came after staffers reportedly found Meghan “difficult to deal with” due to her “mood swings” and described her as “tough and bossy” in the office. She was said to have only interacted with top-ranking employees, and when they weren’t around, the staff had to be reminded that they were dealing with a duchess, a member of the British royal family.
While Meghan’s royal status initially captivated those around her, Sean suggests that the novelty quickly wore off as she became more demanding, leading staff to feel she had forgotten her roots as a struggling actress.
