Netflix Takes a Jab at Meghan Markle's Pregnancy Rumors Ahead of Cooking Show Debut

Netflix Takes a Jab at Meghan Markle's Pregnancy Rumors Ahead of Cooking Show Debut

Netflix has just dropped a brilliant piece of trolling, and this one’s aimed squarely at Meghan Markle. The streaming giant has released *Kind of Pregnant*, a comedy that could not have arrived at a more perfect time, directly poking fun at Meghan’s ongoing “let's pretend” pregnancy saga. How do we know? Well, Netflix couldn’t resist *faking it* right back at Meghan.

*Kind of Pregnant* stars Amy Schumer as Lany, a woman who pretends to be pregnant to grab attention. Lany, feeling left out while her best friend gets all the love at baby showers, decides to strap on a fake baby bump and play the role of a heartbroken, expecting woman. But guess what? She ends up finding her perfect guy in the process. Netflix knows exactly what it’s doing here—using a fake pregnancy to score attention. Sound familiar? It should.

The film doesn’t even need to name names—it’s a masterclass in passive-aggressive trolling. And why is this particularly juicy? Well, Meghan Markle just launched her own Netflix project, *With Love, Meghan*, a show where she tries to convince us that she’s just like one of us, all while cooking in a kitchen that’s clearly not hers.

Netflix, however, was apparently not having it. They saw what was coming—a cooking show where Meghan is attempting to serve up “authentic moments” that are as real as a Kardashian selfie. Just as Meghan tries to sell us this overly staged image of relatability, Netflix drops *Kind of Pregnant*, a movie about a fake pregnancy journey, all delivered with the irony that only Netflix can provide.

Here’s the thing about *With Love, Meghan*: critics are already tearing it apart for being just another piece of hyper-curated content that’s marketed as “real” when in reality, it’s as manufactured as Meghan’s royal exit. “Look, I’m super down-to-earth,” Meghan tells us, but every part of her show—from the rented mansion to the perfectly staged cooking segments—feels as planned as a Vogue cover shoot. There’s nothing spontaneous about it.

Netflix, being the trolling genius it is, saw through the entire act and thought, “Let’s throw in a fake pregnancy plotline right in her face.” *Kind of Pregnant* is a direct jab at all the manufactured authenticity we've been fed by Meghan's PR team. Faking a pregnancy for sympathy and attention? Netflix is basically saying, “Been there, done that, and now we’re making a comedy out of it.” Isn’t it hilarious?

Meghan Markle, who has built a brand on “authenticity” and being “real,” has now launched a Netflix show that’s about as calculated as it gets. And Netflix? They’re not having it. Instead, they release a comedy about a woman pretending to be pregnant for the exact same reasons Meghan’s been accused of—creating an image of relatability and vulnerability.

*Kind of Pregnant* is fully aware of its fakeness, mocking the very concept of pretending for sympathy. Meanwhile, Meghan’s show is trying to sell us the opposite: “Oh, this is totally real... except it’s not.” Netflix isn’t just laughing at Meghan—they’re practically making a documentary on how *not* to fake authenticity, and it’s hilarious.

Netflix is playing the trolling game like a pro. They saw Meghan’s carefully crafted image and decided to drop the ultimate comedic revenge in the form of *Kind of Pregnant*. It’s the perfect mirror to everything Meghan is trying to sell us with her hyper-manufactured content. And honestly, it’s working. While Meghan tries to convince us she’s just a regular mom making Victoria sponge, Netflix is over here saying, “Hold my beer. We’ll make a fake pregnancy way more fun than anything you’ve got.”
