Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Personally Assist Wildfire Victims with Supplies

As Southern California grapples with devastating wildfires, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are actively working to support those affected and contribute to relief efforts.

On Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their second visit to Pasadena, where they met with the city’s mayor to discuss ongoing recovery initiatives. Earlier in the week, the couple had quietly delivered food to displaced families, with the aim of providing immediate assistance to those in need.

In a statement released Thursday on their official website, Harry and Meghan expressed their shock at the extent of the destruction, calling it “catastrophic.” They wrote: *“In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods, destroying homes, schools, medical centers, and much more—affecting tens of thousands of people from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been declared.”

Supporting Relief Efforts

The Sussexes have highlighted a number of organizations that are playing a crucial role in aiding wildfire victims. These include:

  • World Central Kitchen: Providing meals for both first responders and displaced individuals.
  • Animal Wellness Foundation and Compton Cowboys**: Assisting in the evacuation and care of animals affected by the fires.
  • Baby2Baby: Distributing emergency kits and essential supplies to families in need.
  • Airbnb: Partnering with 211LA to offer free temporary housing to evacuees.

The Duke and Duchess also encouraged individuals to offer support in personal ways, such as providing housing for evacuees, checking on elderly or disabled neighbors, and donating necessary items like clothing and toys. They also stressed the importance of the **American Red Cross**, which is providing critical assistance on the ground.

*“Some families have been left with nothing,”* the couple wrote. *“Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys, and other essential items.”*
