Prince Harry Faces New Challenge as He Steps Out to Aid Wildfire Victims
Prince Harry, joined by his wife Meghan Markle, made an unexpected appearance to support the ongoing relief efforts as wildfires continue to ravage Southern California.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen in Pasadena on Friday, quietly assisting with the relief work alongside the World Central Kitchen. They kept a low profile during their visit, focusing on the important task at hand.
The wildfire, which began on January 7th, is currently about 90 miles from their home in Montecito, where they live with their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. The fire has already burned thousands of acres of land and claimed at least 11 lives in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
Amid this crisis, Harry received unfortunate news about a key member of his team at his eco-focused company, Travalyst. India Gary-Martin, who served as the chairman of the eco-friendly travel app, announced her departure from the company after just a year and a half. According to The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden, India decided to step down just before Christmas to focus on her own business ventures. In her place, former Google executive Gianni Marostic has been appointed.
The news of India’s departure came just hours after Harry and Meghan were seen assisting victims of the Eaton Fire in Pasadena. The Mayor of Pasadena praised the couple’s visit, noting that they “really buoyed the spirits of the first responders” during a time of crisis.
While the wildfires continue to threaten their home in Montecito, Harry’s business affairs seem to take a backseat as the couple remains focused on the immediate needs of those affected by the disaster.
