Prince Harry’s Eco-Tourism Initiative Faces Setback as Travalyst Chair Steps Down
Prince Harry’s eco-tourism initiative, *Travalyst*, has hit a significant setback as India Gary-Martin, the inaugural chairperson, stepped down after a year and a half in the role.
Gary-Martin, who had been with the organization since its launch, reportedly resigned last year to focus on her own ventures, according to a statement from Travalyst.
Royal commentator Richard Eden noted, “Working for Prince Harry seems to have lost its appeal rather quickly for the business executive.”
Her departure adds to a growing list of at least 19 senior staff members who have left organizations associated with Prince Harry, as highlighted by royal experts.
This comes at a time when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced scrutiny over their environmental advocacy, particularly after accusations of hypocrisy in 2019 for their frequent use of private jets, despite promoting sustainability. During that year, the couple made four private jet trips within just 11 days.
Defending their actions at the time, Prince Harry admitted that “no one is perfect” and emphasized the need for “balance” in such matters.
When Gary-Martin first took on the role of Travalyst chair, she expressed enthusiasm, calling it an “exciting opportunity.
Founded by Prince Harry in 2019, Travalyst aims to promote environmentally conscious tourism. Despite the challenges surrounding the initiative, Harry remains committed to his philanthropic efforts. Recently, he was seen helping with wildfire relief efforts in California.
