King Charles Settles the Fate of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Titles
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, now settled in the US with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, just got a major update about their royal titles.
Under King Charles III’s reign, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can breathe easy—their titles are safe for now. But a fresh report suggests that won’t last forever. When Prince William takes the throne, everything could flip.
Despite walking away from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have held onto their Sussex titles. Word is, though, "King William" plans to yank them away entirely.
The couple, now calling California home, has seen their titles spark endless chatter among royal watchers. Harry even opened up about the idea of ditching them in a 2023 interview.
According to a courtier spilling to Radar Online, the 76-year-old King Charles has given his eldest son, William—the next in line—full permission to make that call when he becomes king.
The insider dished: “Charles is obsessed with his public image and terrified of backlash from the people. That’s why he’d never risk stripping Harry’s Sussex title himself, no matter how much trouble Harry’s stirred up.”
But don’t be fooled—the royal family’s inner circle seems ready to see the Sussexes lose their status. “Behind closed doors, folks are whispering that the royals have already okayed stripping the titles if Harry and Meghan step out of line again,” the source revealed.
“It’s not simple, though—it’d take an Act of Parliament to pull it off,” they added. “Still, those in the know say the palace has been holding hush-hush meetings to hash out the details and craft a solid plan.”
The source sealed it: “Once King Charles is gone, you can bet William will pull the trigger and strip Meghan and Harry of their HRH [His/Her Royal Highness] honors.”
