Prince Harry’s Childhood Dessert Craving Still Going Strong
We already know Prince Harry isn’t a fan of lobster — Meghan let that slip in the trailer for season two of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan. But now we’ve learned something else about his taste buds, thanks to a former royal chef.
Darren McGrady, who cooked for Princess Diana, Prince William, and Prince Harry, once revealed that the princes loved “comfort food” desserts, especially banana-based treats. Banana flan? Yes. Banana ice cream? Absolutely. If it had bananas, they were happy.
That banana love hasn’t faded. In 2018, during their tour of Australia, Meghan even baked banana bread for an official visit, proving some cravings really do stick for life.
Now that Harry lives in the U.S., he’s got way more access to his childhood favorite — banana ice cream. In the UK, it’s rare in regular supermarkets, but in America, it’s easy to find. Walmart sells a Ben & Jerry’s banana flavor for under $5, and Trader Joe’s offers banana pudding ice cream for even less.
And if all else fails? Well, Meghan’s pretty handy in the kitchen — so Harry could probably get a homemade batch if he asked sweetly.
